Joan lives in Lemon Grove, California. She graduated from San Diego State University.

She is a member of the San Diego Enamel Guild and Enamel Guild West and has been enameling for over twenty years. Her favorite enameling techniques to use are sifting, painting and cloisonné. Her inspiration for her craft comes from animals and nature.
